The 10th installment of the Legend of Zelda series appeared on the Gamecube as 'The Wind Waker'. At the time of development and release there was a lot of controversy about the games 'cel-shaded' graphics. The casual gamers demanded realistic graphics, but Miyamoto wanted to make the game fresh and not to just make another Ocarina of Time.
The game appears to be set many 100's of years after the N64 titles as the land of Hyrule has been flooded. The collection of islands scattered across the ocean are infact the mountain tops of a Hyrule long forgotten. Link lives peacefully on Outset Island with his Grandmother and Sister, Aryll. In the true Zelda fashion, the peace is abruptly called to an end as a giant bird takes Aryll. In pursuit, Link sets sail with a gang of pirates, lead by female figure head Tetra (who is actually Princess Zelda as we come to find out later on in the game). From here on Link is on an epic quest to save his sister and the whole of Hyrule from the menacing Ganon.
